The San
tribe used Hoodia Gordonii for thousands of years with Zero side
effects. Since 2004 Hoodia Gordonii have
been commercially available and used by tens of thousands of people
in the USA, Canada, UK and a few countries in Europe.
How long does it take
before I feel the appetite suppressing properties of Hoodia?
Some people feel the effects on the first day. However as
discovered in trials conducted in Leicester, England it can take
anywhere between 1 day and up to two weeks for the full effect to
become evident. You may want to start off with the recommended dosage
on the first day and gradually increase to double the dose. Once the
effect of the Hoodia "kicks in" you can go back to the recommended
dosage of 2 x 500mg 30-60 minutes before each meal.
Why South African Hoodia Gordonii?
Although the genus
Hoodia is widespread in southern Africa, herbarium records indicate
that Hoodia gordonii only occurs in South Africa and Namibia. Any
claims about other areas of distribution should be verified by a
competent taxonomist. The soil, the environment
and climatic conditions are extremely important in the growth of
good quality Hoodia Gordonii.
Why Hoodia Gordonii from the Kalahari desert?
Pure
Hoodia Gordonii comes direct from the Kalahari and selected
surrounding regions. Created by mother nature and untouched by man,
that is until harvesting time. Plants or herbs that grow naturally
is far more potent than product grown outside of its natural
habitat. You get a great deal more value for your money.
Can I use Hoodia if I suffer from heart or any related chronic
illness?
It is best to consult with your local doctor, or
physician. He or she will have a full history of your ailments. You
may want to make mention that Hoodia is a plant and considered a
food in South Africa.
How do I know you sell genuine Hoodia Gordonii?
Firstly you can view my certificate of analysis
link in the side bar to the right More importantly I
live in Cape Town South Africa, I am a distant descendent of the San
tribe. On a daily basis I deal with tribal folk from various parts
of Africa, this is how I got to know about the herbs and indigenous
plants. For the record more than 70% of Africans make use of herbal
and plant remedies to cure ailments.
As you may know, Southern Africa is the heartland of the San tribe
and therefore I am right here at the source of the product. Only
licensed harvesters and resellers are allowed to trade with Hoodia.
More facts:
Each harvester gets a quota from Nature
conservation. The licensed harvester must obtain a permit to sell
and export the batch. Licensed Resellers/wholesalers like myself
must have legitimate documentation from the licensed harvester. Each
batch gets a certificate by nature conservation, they keep full
record of the batch. If any individual is found with bulk Hoodia in
his/her possession without the required license and or certificates
they end up in prison.
Secondly it would not be in my
interest to sell fake Hoodia to the rest of the world. This would
not only be criminal but it would be an injustice to my people "an
Injury to one is an injury to all".
Hoodia Gordonii is a protected plant specie in South Africa. Only
licensed companies or individuals are allowed to trade with Hoodia.
Nature conservation issues the license. You can view ours here. It
is a criminal offence to trade with Hoodia Gordonii without a
license and the required permit for bulk export trade.
Traditional knowledge / Bio-piracy
Our region can greatly benefit from the sales of the Hoodia Gordonii, hence to sell fake Hoodia would be robbing the poorest of the poor. Not only that, but it would put me out of business. Here in South Africa, Hoodia has the same status as our protected wild life, namely rhino, elephant buffalo etc.
The South African government is in the process to draft a bill that
requires proof of prior informed consent of communities before
granting patents for products or elements derived from their
traditional knowledge.
This kind of theft have been going on for
a long time and hopefully this bill will prevent companies from
exploiting the traditional knowledge (normally stolen from the
poorest of the poor) Not only here in South Africa but in the Amazon
and other parts of the world.
Hoodia Gordonii is a protected
plant specie in South Africa, and can only be harvested by licensed
companies or individuals. The ideal soil, environment and climatic
conditions of the Kalahari region play an important role in the
growth of good quality Hoodia, and because we are
close to the source you can be rest assured that we only
select the best plants for our capsules.
